The Process
Goals-Based Investing Explained
At its core, goals-based investing connects investment strategies to a member's financial objectives. Directions Financial Services empowers advisors to make that connection by custom-tailoring strategies for the three stages of an investment journey: Gain, Protect and Spend.
Gain Stage
In this stage, the advisors seek to capture growth trends with a flexible, active investing process that’s designed with the goal of growing wealth over time, while being mindful of volatility.
Protect Stage
Within this stage, the advisors seek to grow assets while mitigating the risk of a catastrophic portfolio loss that could derail a financial plan.
Spend Stage
In this stage, the advisors seek to provide the ability for taking regular distributions and preserve spending power, while addressing longevity and shortfall risks.
