People Helping People
At Directions Credit Union, we are not only dedicated to improving the lives of our members, but of all those that live in our communities. Credit Unions were founded on the basic principle of “people helping people,” and each day we strive to continue that mission.
Directions gives back to the community through financial literacy education, in kind donations, scholarship support and more.
Directions delivers approximately 365 hours of financial educational events annually to more than 8,500 participants at libraries, schools, churches, senior centers, and correctional institutions in our communities. We provide a full array of financial topics from budgeting, identity theft, understanding credit and much more. If you are interested in more information about scheduling a financial literacy workshop please contact:
Directions provides over $50,000 in annual monetary and in kind donations to numerous organizations within our communities. If your nonprofit organization would like to request a donation or other support, please complete the Donation Request Form and send to Karen Hack – firstname.lastname@example.org
Causes We Support
Children’s Miracle Network
Directions Credit Union unites with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to help sick and injured kids in local communities. Donations to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals create miracles by funding specialized medical care, research, and education that save and improve the lives of children. The annual Ohio Credit Unions: Marching Miles for Miracle Kids campaign raises money for the nine children’s hospitals that serve Ohioans, through events at credit unions and throughout communities around the state.
School Supply Drive
We annually collect supplies and cash donations for area schools. These donations are a huge help to our local schools and many families who struggle to provide supplies for their children each year.
Summer Reading Programs
Directions is proud to be a main sponsor of our local library’s Summer Reading Programs. These programs are crucial for a child’s learning process. Summer Reading helps to neutralize summer reading loss as well as foster an enthusiasm for reading! Other benefits include improved reading skills, self-esteem, comprehension, and memory skills.
Directions Credit Union supports the Finance 101 program, an educational game that teaches high school students the basics of money management. Students learn about paying bills and taxes, what it costs to run a household, how earning can impact buying decisions, and more. Learn more
