Your Financial Journey Begins Here
We're here to help through all of life's moments, big and small. If you're looking for where to start in your child's financial journey, you're in the right place! From budgeting and savings to applying for that first auto loan, we've got you covered.
Directions believes that a smarter financial community is a better community. That's why we encourage our members to include their children in conversations about finances from a young age. Teaching them to budget, save, and spend responsibly will set them up for financial success as they grow. For tips on how to raise financially independent children, click here.
Why a Credit Union?
Directions Credit Union is a community-based credit union, which means membership is open to nearly everyone in the Toledo and Central Ohio areas. We’re member-owned and not-for-profit. That means we can offer better rates, fewer fees and more affordable financial services.
If you live, work, worship, attend school or volunteer in the following counties in Ohio: Ashland, Crawford, Erie, Fulton, Huron, Knox, Lorain, Lucas, Medina, Morrow, Ottawa, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, Tuscarawas, Wayne, Wood, plus, in lower Michigan – Monroe County & Lenawee County – you are eligible for membership.
Your family members – grandparents, parents, spouse, siblings, children, grandchildren and household members – are also eligible to join. And once they’ve done so, their family members are also eligible for membership.
Savings and Certificates
Our Youth Goal Savings account is a great way to build your child's first savings at any age.
Want to grow your savings? We offer 12 and 24 month Youth Certificates that will grow with your child! Unlike our regular certificates, you can add funds throughout the life of the Youth Certificate.

Directions has the Technology You Need
Directions offers Online and Mobile Banking that can help parents safely monitor their children’s accounts as well as their own. When they are old enough to manage their own money, they can use these tools to access their accounts wherever life takes them.
