Directions Credit Union (post-secondary & high school)

Directions Credit Union is offering scholarships for our young members. We are offering two $1000 post-secondary scholarships (full-time students of accredited colleges, community colleges, vocational/trade schools).  Also, we are offering two $1000 high school scholarships (school tuition for 8th-11th graders).  

Application deadline has passed.  The winners will be announced and contacted in May 2017.


Northwest Ohio Outreach Alliance Scholarship

The Northwest Ohio Credit Unions Outreach Alliance will be awarding three scholarships; one for $1500, one for $1000 and one for $500. You don’t need to be a member of a credit union to apply. 

Application deadline is March 31, 2017.

North Central Ohio Outreach Alliance Scholarship

North Central Ohio Outreach Alliance Scholarship Program North Central Ohio local credit unions are offering to help you combat the costs of post-secondary education.  There will be four scholarship(s) awarded for $1000 each.   This scholarship is offered to members and non-members residing in the following counties:  Ashland, Richland, Wayne, Huron, Marion, Knox, Crawford, Morrow, Wyandot, and Seneca.

Application deadline is March 29, 2017.

Ohio Credit Union Foundation - $5000 VIDEO SCHOLARSHIP

Lifting up students moving on to higher education is the drive behind the annual Ohio Credit Union Foundation video scholarship. Students can submit a short video for the chance to win $5,000 towards college.

Applications are being accepted from Feb. 1, 2017 through Sunday, April 30, 2017, and we want you to play a role in promoting this substantial scholarship to your members.  To qualify for the video scholarship, student applicants must:
  • be at least a high school senior
  • be a member of an Ohio-based credit union, and
  • plan to pursue an undergraduate degree during the 2017-2018 school year.
  • Create a 1 to 2½-minute video answering the scholarship question: “How does being a member of a not-for-profit credit union differ from traditional for-profit financial institutions?”

Video entries can be edgy, funny, bold, simple, serious – or anything in between.

Video entries must be submitted online via the Foundation’s website,, by 11:59:59 p.m. EST Sunday, April 30. Video finalists, selected by a judging panel, will appear on the website and the scholarship winner will be announced May 22.
