Why Join?

Join Directions Credit Union

Now more than ever it may be time to consider a new direction when it comes to your banking needs.  From the beginning, credit unions were different.  They were formed by ordinary people, with the purpose of helping each other. That philosophy still guides everything we do at Directions.  We exist for the benefit of our member-owners, and not to profit from them.

As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we’re able to offer rates that are generally lower than those offered by conventional, for-profit financial institutions. We’re also able to pay higher dividends on deposits and charge lower fees. But that’s just the start!

Access to over 5000 shared branch locations, plus over 2000 ATM locations for your use!

Become a member of our not-for-profit financial cooperative and join the more than 70,000 members who make Directions Credit Union one of the largest, strongest financial institutions in Ohio and discover how life is easier at Directions!

Can I Join?

Directions Credit Union is a community based credit union, which means membership is open to nearly everyone in the Toledo Area & Central Ohio. If you live, work, worship, attend school, or volunteer in the following Counties in Ohio: Crawford, Wood, Fulton, Lucas, Ashland, Huron, Knox, Richland, Wayne, and Tuscarawas, plus, in lower Michigan; Monroe county,  you are eligible for membership. Your  family members are also eligible to join — including grandparents, parents, spouses, siblings, grandchildren, children and household members. Once your family members have joined, their family members are also eligible for membership.

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, the USA PATRIOT ACT, a Federal law, requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account, including business accounts.

What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents. If you are opening an account on behalf of a business entity, documents relating to the business may also be requested. When you open an account, you will be asked to provide information that will allow us to identify you. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
